This Privacy Policy explains how Scoffy ("Scoffy", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use the Scoffy mobile application, website, and related services (the "Services").

Scoffy is an AI meal planning app for users in the United Kingdom. It helps users create meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists based on selected days, meal slots, budget, retailer, servings, diet and allergy notes, pantry items, cooking preferences, and food goals.

Summary

• Scoffy does not currently require a sign-up account.
• The app uses an anonymous local profile ID so meal plans, pantry items, shopping-list state, and subscription access can work without an account.
• We do not collect payment-card details. App Store purchases are processed by Apple, and subscription entitlements are managed through RevenueCat.
• Diet, allergy, and health-related planning notes may reveal sensitive health-related information if you choose to enter them.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not intentionally collect precise location, contact lists, browsing history, or search history.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect or process the following information.

Information You Provide

• Meal planning preferences, including selected days, meal slots, budget, retailer, servings, diet notes, allergy notes, pantry items, cooking preferences, equipment notes, food goals, and similar planning inputs.
• User-generated app content, including generated meal plans, recipes, ingredients, method text, shopping lists, checked items, owned items, meal swaps, locked meals, completed meals, skipped meals, and regeneration history.
• Support or privacy request information you choose to provide when contacting us.

Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous app profile identifiers used to provide app functionality without requiring a sign-up account.
• Device and usage data, such as app interactions, diagnostics, logs, feature use, request timing, and technical information needed to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the Services.
• Subscription status, offering, purchase, renewal, and entitlement information needed to provide Scoffy Pro access.

Sensitive Information

Diet notes, allergy notes, health-related goals, or similar free-text meal planning inputs may reveal health-related information if you choose to enter them. Please only enter information that you are comfortable using for meal planning. Scoffy is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, dietetic, or clinical advice service.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Generate, revise, store, and display meal plans, recipes, pantry-aware suggestions, and shopping lists.
• Personalise meal planning around your selected budget, retailer, servings, preferences, diet notes, allergy notes, pantry items, and goals.
• Maintain app state, including plans, pantry items, shopping-list progress, meal locks, swaps, skipped meals, completed meals, and anonymous profile continuity.
• Provide, manage, restore, and verify subscription access and Scoffy Pro entitlements.
• Operate, debug, secure, monitor, and improve the Services.
• Identify usage trends and protect the Services from misuse, abuse, or technical issues.
• Respond to support, privacy, deletion, correction, access, or export requests.
• Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Legal Bases for UK and European Users

Where UK, European Economic Area, or Swiss data protection laws apply, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations. Our legitimate interests include providing, securing, improving, and protecting the Services. If you provide health-related or allergy-related meal planning information, we process it only as needed to provide the requested meal planning features or where you have chosen to provide it.

AI Services

Scoffy uses AI services to generate and revise meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, and related app content. Meal planning inputs may be sent to Google Cloud AI through server-side systems to provide these features. AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your needs. You should review ingredients, allergens, nutrition estimates, product labels, prices, and cooking instructions before relying on a plan.

Service Providers and Business Partners

We may disclose information to service providers and business partners that help us operate, improve, measure, or promote the Services. These providers process information on our behalf or as otherwise described in their own privacy notices.

• Supabase: backend hosting, database, user data storage, and server-side functions.
• Google Cloud AI: AI meal planning, recipe, and shopping-list generation.
• RevenueCat: in-app purchase management, subscription status, and entitlement processing.
• Apple App Store: app distribution, in-app purchase processing, subscriptions, refunds, and related App Store services.
• Meta and TikTok: advertising, attribution, campaign measurement, and related marketing analytics if we run paid advertising campaigns.

We do not store payment-card details in Scoffy. Payments and subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store, and subscription entitlement information is managed by RevenueCat.

Tracking, Advertising, and Sale of Information

We may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, or similar technologies for advertising attribution, campaign measurement, and understanding how marketing performs, including with Meta and TikTok. These technologies may involve sharing limited device, usage, or event information with those partners for measurement and advertising purposes.

Using paid advertising or attribution tools is not the same as selling personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose personal information to data brokers. If we add a mobile measurement partner or materially change our advertising or tracking practices, we will update this policy and any required consent notices.

We do not currently use Google Analytics or Google Maps APIs in the Services.

When We Disclose Information

We may disclose information:

• To service providers and business partners listed above so they can provide hosting, database, AI, purchase, subscription, security, advertising, attribution, and operational services.
• To comply with law, legal process, regulatory requests, or enforceable governmental requests.
• To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of users, Scoffy, our Services, or others.
• In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets.

International Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in the United Kingdom, the United States, and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your location. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, or other legal bases for international transfers.

Retention

We generally retain app, support, and usage records for up to two years unless a longer period is needed to provide the Services, maintain subscription records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect the Services, or handle a request from you. Apple, RevenueCat, and other providers may keep certain records under their own retention rules.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission, storage, or processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
